hosted the World GIS Day celebration on 15 /11/2018 at the University Towers room LT102.

 Every year, this forum brings together a range of stakeholders and users of geographic information system (GIS) technologies who showcase its real world applications.

The event focused on the role and place of GIS in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Kenya’s Big Four Agenda .  Keynote speeches, presentations of GIS projects and panel discussions are some of the exciting activities done on this day. The event brought participant from private and government organization. Among these were: Kenya Forestry Services, Regional Center for Mapping Resources for Development,Oakar Services, ESRI Eastern Africa, Danish Refugee Camp , Plainsville Ltd& Geomaps Africa.

The event was sponsored by; The Geospatial Engineering Students’ Association (GESA), Oakar Services and the University of Nairobi .
