Cognitive Geomatics project workshop: Sense of Place – Satellite Image Ground Truthing

‘Cognitive Geomatics – Digital teaching to create awareness of intercultural differences in sense of place using Germany, South Africa and Kenya as case studies’ is part of the BadenWürttemberg-STIPENDIUM for University Students – BWS plus, a programme of the BadenWürttemberg Stiftung. The project schedule is from March 2022 to February 2025 with a financial capital of 140,000 €.

GEOSPATIAL ENGINEERING STUDENTS VISIT AT GOOD LIFE CHILDRENS HOME

The university of Nairobi encourages the students wherever they go ,they should take time and give back to the community.

This year,the department of Geospatial and Space Technology choose to visit a children home in kilifi county during its trip to coast to carry out hydrographic mapping.In  addition,the students encouraged the young ones to put more efforts and consinder taking Engineering course  in the university.

GEOSPATIAL ENGINEERING STUDENT VISIT AT KENYA NAVY

The visit was aimed at familiarizing the students with industrial aspects of Hydrographic Survey, Satellite Techniques related to Geospatial Engineering and Nautical Charts.

During the visit, the 44 students attended a brief session at the Kenya Navy Maritime Operations Center where they were apprised by Captain Mwikali on Hydrography in the Kenyan context with a bias of its role in training and securing the kenyan waters..
