Chess

On 13th and 14th, the chess matches were played casually as participants sharpened their skills for the pivotal day on 15th. Each chess player’s move represents a strategic decision and players must anticipate consequences several steps ahead. This cognitive exercise transcends geographical and cultural boundaries, making chess a universal language of strategy.

On the 15th, the atmosphere grew tense as timers were introduced, accelerating the pace of the chess matches. In the men’s category, Vincent Kipyegon emerged victorious, swiftly putting his opponent in check in under a minute. Huko emerged second. In the women’s category, Caroline Bett gracefully secured her victory, establishing her empire on the chessboard. As for the runners-up, Cheryll demonstrated her prowess as well.

The cube.

Much like the chess matches, the Rubik’s Cube enthusiasts gathered on the 13th and 14th, solving their colorful puzzles with a sense of camaraderie. However, when the 15th arrived, it was serious business. Timers were set, and once again Vincent Kipyegon solved his cube in record time leaving his competitors astounded. Kogi, equally determined, twisted the cube as fast as humanly possible. He emerged as the first runner-up, a testament to his skill.

Monopoly

As the players continued strategically passing the ball to one another, the fans at the bleachers took part in monopoly. Monopoly wasn’t just a game but a microcosm of capitalism. They rolled the dice, negotiated the deals, and even put each other in jail, game jail of course. Monopoly was vigorously played on all the three days.

Scavenger Hunt

On 14th, the newest game in the block brought in 18 registered participants whereby they played in teams of three. The game started off with players scanning a QR code that redirected them to a google form. The form had the clues, cryptic, that forced the participants to explore their surroundings. Their observation skills and wits were put to the test. The team that coined itself Suswa Fare made up of Moureen Wanjiku, Nicholas Lusaala and Wesley Waithaka won having the most right answers.

Football

GESA Sport’s week wouldn’t exist without football.13th: Geo 3 unleashed their thrashed Geo 1 with a resounding 3-0 victory. Meanwhile, Geo 4 crushed Geo 2 with a 6-0 scoreline. 14th: Geo 3 continued on their winning streak, outplaying Geo 4 with a 4-1 triumph. Geo 5 left no room for doubt, blanking Geo 1 with a 3-0 win.For the finals on 15th, Geo 3 faced Geo 4 once more, and emerged victorious with a 2-1 scoreline. The top scorer was Emmanuel, who netted 6 impressive goals in the final game. The Player of the Tournament was, the skilled, Donald Kimeli.
