The university of Nairobi,Department of Geopsatial and space Technology held the MSC (GIS) project proposal presentation on 30th January 2020 in rooms AW404& AW 406.Each student was given five minutes to present outlining clearly:

• Title of the project
• Problem statement
• Objectives
• Proposed methodology
• Expected output
• Budget
• Time schedule

Project is an important task in the  preparation of the student's final examination as one cant graduate without accomplishing it.

The University of Nairobi, Department of Geospatial and Space Technology held a seminar on developing a Gis mobile map apps for nature conservation.The key speaker was Prof.Gertrud Schaab, Faculty for Information Management and Media, Karlsruhe University of Applied Science (HsKA) Germany/Deutschland. She is currently carrying out several Research Projects in Kenya among them being the use of Gis Mobile Map Apps to monitor the activities of Cheetah in Kenya and also Apps to be used in Ground Truthing, Case Study of Taita Hills.

The University of Nairobi ,Department of Geospatial and Space Technology in conjunction  with Geospatial Advocacy Kenya,held a training in the University of Nairobi Towers on 25th January 2020.This session was meant to prepare the students  for the County Government App Challenge by exposing them to some of the popular technologies that one can use to build a location-based app on web and mobile.

The department of Geospatial and Space Technology, University of Nairobi held the Final project presentation for all the fifth years on Tuesday  3rd December, 2019.Each student was given five minutes to present on;
and defend his project.This is a requirement by the university before the students are cleared for graduation.All staffs and 5th year Students were present. This event took place concurrently in Rooms AW 404,408&406 beginning at 8:30 AM.

The university of Nairobi,Department of Geospatial and space Technology hosted the World GIS day on 12th November 2019 at the university of Nairobi towers.The theme for this year was:"The role of Geospatial Technology innovation in adressing the sustainable Development Goals"

The keynote presentation was made by staffs from,University of Nairobi,Kenya Forest Services,Oakar services Ltd,Orbital Africa,Esri Eastern Africa and National Land Commission.

Women in GIS Kenya in collaboration with Pathways International , Esri Eastern Africa , Nakala Analytics and University of Nairobi,Department of Geospatial and Space Technology hosted a two day seminar on Data Analytics and visualization.They are an inherently visual world, where images speak louder than words. Data visualization cannot be emphasized enough especially when it comes to big data and data analysis projects.
