The Department of Geospatial and Space Technology University of Nairobi ,marked the GIS celebration on 15th November 2023.This event took place at the University of Nairobi Towers.

This years celebration was bigger and better compared to the previous celebrations.It was widely attended by proffessionals all over the various organisations practicing Geospatial in the country.Among them were representatives from:Orkar services limited,RCMRD,LIMA LABS,NEMA,ISK,among others.

The students engaged in many activities among them being Map competion challege.The various categories were awarded with gifts such as certificate and cash awards.

The Department of Geospatial and space technology had a privilage to host the chief quest,His Excellence Dr.Wilber K.Ottichilo the governor of Vihiga county.Other invited quest among the university management were in attendance.

Students both from the university of Nairobi and Technical University of Kenya attended in big numbers.The theme for the Gis week was Geospatial synergy.Various presenters showed cases on the usage of GIS in various areas as a tool to solve the emerging challenges.
