Equipment Grant from British Ordinance Survey through RCMRD

Geospatial & Space Technology Department, University of Nairobi was among four     

Dr.-Ing. Faith N. Karanja, receiving GNSS Equipment from Prof. J. B. K. Kiema of RCMRD 

recipient public universities in Kenya that benefited from an Equipment Grant from British Ordinance Survey under the auspices of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) through the Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development (RCMRD)’s programme of ‘Strengthening Tertiary Institutions Capacities Initiative’ on 20th April 2018.

Three sets of used Leica GNSS that included one GPS Base and Two Rovers were handed over to each university department. The universities that benefited were The University of Nairobi, Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture & Technology, Technical University of Kenya, Dedan Kimathi University of Technology.

The handing over ceremony was carried out at the Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development (RCMRD) Headquarters in Nairobi.
